My Go-to Autumn/Winter Outfits!

As some of you may already know, Summer is my thing. I love everything about it – in particular, the fashion. And somehow, no matter how wet or cold the weather is, I just can’t detach myself from my Summer wardrobe. Alas, here we are in Autumn, and I finally have to do just that. I (reluctantly) admit I can no longer pass it off as ‘just a spell’, or shrug my shoulders and say ‘but its not that cold’. It is, hence why I found myself reopening my tightly closed box of jumpers a short time ago. And then came the realisation. I had fallen out of love with my Autumn/Winter wardrobe. Some of the pieces that I had worn many times last Autumn and the one before that, were no longer cutting it. It just needed something… a little more colour, style maybe, to make me love it that little bit more.

I was a little nervous at the prospect of shopping for the changing season, as it quite often leads to disappointment for me. But unexpectedly, I managed to pick up some pieces that I love. I wanted to share these with you, in the hope that they will give you some outfit inspiration during the colder weather.

Yellow Jumper – I’ve always been a quiet admirer of the ‘mustard’ jumper. I think the colour just completely screams Autumn and I love it. The problem was I just didn’t know if it would suit me. Hence why I was in two minds when I spotted this one in New Look. But I tried it on and mulled it over in my head for all of three seconds before falling in love! A knitted jumper is a classic, and pretty much a staple in a Autumn/Winter wardrobe (well, in mine anyway).  One of the things I love the most about it that its longline. This wouldn’t usually be something I would go for – one of the downfalls of being petite and just under 5 foot tall. On the upside though, it keeps me warmer, so I don’t need any extra layers on those super chilly days. Equally though, I’m never too hot in it, which is a bonus! I love the ribbed trim too – but sometimes I like to roll up the sleeves slightly. For me, it really adds a little something extra to the outfit. I just love it and I’m completely over the moon to finally have a mustard coloured addition to my wardrobe! Saying that, the jumper comes in plenty of other colours too, so if this colour isn’t for you, take your pick! I’m wearing the jumper with this little black bag. Its the perfect size for taking the essential items with you on a day out. Its really easy to just throw on to finish off an outfit and I love the gold detailing on the front.

Striped Jumper – I’m a real sucker for stripes. I can’t help it, I just gravitate towards them…… Its yet another thing (aside from slogan tees) that I just can’t stop buying. So when I saw this jumper in New Look, I just had to have it. And honestly, I don’t think I could be in love with this jumper more. Aside from the stripes, the colours are just dreamy. The ‘mustard’ makes another appearance but I particularly love the addition of the orange and the purple… it just epitomises Autumn for me. This jumper is a ribbed knit, and its a lot more chunky, which I know I’m going to be super grateful for as the cold weather continues. I often find jumpers at this time of year quite plain, so this one helps to add a little bit of variety to my wardrobe. I’ve paired it with a scarf from Accessorize. The colours compliment each other, which really brings the outfit together as a whole. This is one of my fave combos and its one I shall be living in throughout Autumn and Winter.

Checked Shirt – Ok so this checked shirt was a bit of an impulse buy. I mean, I wasn’t really looking for it, but I stumbled across it during my regular peruse of the New Look petite section. I’m not usually a check fan, but something about this really caught my eye. The cotton material makes the shirt really comfortable, and its quite thick which is a little bit warmer than your usual long sleeved shirt. I also love the little details – the collar, the little pocket and silver buttons are a really cute touch! Plus, its really easy to wear. My favourite way to wear this is untucked, with my Topshop black Joni jeans as pictured. Since making this purchase, I have a new love for checks and actually might invest in some more! I’ve styled it with my khaki green bomber jacket (no prizes for guessing where its from!) I really love this outfit and I think this is really going to be a staple in my wardrobe!

Boots – For the purposes of this very blog post, I really wanted a pair of boots.  I’ve had pairs before that I loved, but none quite like these. These are actually from the New Look children’s section (because if being short wasn’t enough, I also have the smallest feet!) But, I guess its great because it just means I get more choice in shoes! I’ve already mentioned my love for stripes and slogan tees in this post, but its also very rare that I go into a shop and walk past something soft or fluffy without wanting to feel it. Yep, I’m one of those people. So it won’t shock you to find out that when I saw these online, the faux fur trim was the thing I loved most about them. Its just a total winner. I also love the suede-like finish – for me this just makes them feel a little bit more luxury! The laces and the soles really add to the look of them too. They are so cute – I love wearing them with my Topshop black Joni jeans (or any other black jeans for that matter). In fact, I love them so much that I just had to feature them with every single one of the outfits!

So that’s all the features of my go-to Autumn/Winter outfits! I’ve provided links where I can to the items mentioned, so if you’re unable to resist the temptation, go and check them out! As always, you can let me know which of the items you love most in the comments below. But it would be great to hear what clothes you are enjoying wearing most from your own Autumn/Winter wardrobes. I would love to expand my collection…..!

Love these outfits you look so good in them! Honestly this autumn I’ve been obsessed with mustard jumpers and yet I never got round to actually buying one, but still lovely to see others wearing them x

Girl, your outfits are on point! I absolutely love the third one though because I’m obsessed with checked shirt and wear them all year round so it’s fun to dress them up or down depending on the seasons! xx
