Blogmas Day 5: Christmas Yankee Candle Haul!

Ok, so on an average year, I wouldn’t say that I burn a lot of candles. Probably because I’m lazy if I’m honest. But, Christmas is the best time of year for me, and the one time when I think candles are sort of a necessity. Its not Christmas without a candle. We usually stick to the same scents, but this time I wanted to push the boat out and try other ones. So, I’ve tried out five different candles in the hope that I find a new favourite for the festive season. And with this selection, my house is going to be smelling amazing for the rest of this month!

The first candle that I decided to try was called Winter Glow. This one surprised me a lot. I’m not a lover of strong, overpowering scents, so when I originally got this out I wasn’t sure about it. But, then I started to burn the candle. And oh my goodness, it smells incredible. Its quite a sweet, orange scent, but what I also love is that it has an element of freshness. It sort of reminds me of being outside on an Autumn day, amongst the leaves and trees. I love the combination of these scents because it gives a festive feel without being an exclusive Christmas candle. I think you probably could burn this one all year round if you wanted to, but I do think its great one to have throughout the colder months.

The next candle is actually one of the new scents, so I was excited to try it.  Its called Snowflake Cookie and I love it. This shouldn’t really surprise me – Last year, we had the Christmas Cookie candle and this quickly became a favourite of mine. I may well have to add this one to the list. It must be something about cookies!! But this candle really does smell like them. Its also got a hint of rose, which is really lovely. Again, its not a smell that screams Christmas, but it really reminds me of this time of year, because I love a bit of festive baking. I think this is definitely one for you if you prefer a more subtle scent. It really fills the room too, which is a real bonus!

I tried the Festive Cocktail candle. And oh my does it smell like one! This one has a really lovely berry scent, which I’m a real fan of. I just love it. It also has a lovely vanilla undertone. Two of my favourite things! This one is definitely more Christmassy, which is perfect for this time of year. Personally, I just find the scent so comforting. Its not overpowering either, which is great. Its the kind of smell I want around my home all day long!

Another new one that I was able to try was Christmas Magic. Given that I’m not usually a fan of this sort of scent either, I thought this wouldn’t be for me. But, to my surprise, I quite like it. The scent really reminds me of a campfire, and its also got a hint of spice, which really adds that Christmassy vibe to it! The two scents work really well together and actually make me feel quite warm inside… Its a real festive scent to have around the home. I think if you enjoy a stronger, more spicy scent, you’ll love this candle!

The Perfect Tree is another new scent in the set. I was excited about this one most of all because a Christmas tree is just my most favourite seasonal smell. And it did not disappoint! You know that woody smell that immediately hits you when you open up your Christmas tree? This is exactly how it smells. I’m yet to put up my Christmas tree (I know, I’m so late), but while this candle was burning, that was a tiny insignificant detail. Because I had a candle that smelt like one, and that’s almost, kinda the next best thing. For me, this candle is quintessentially Christmas, and its one that I shall be burning continually throughout the festive season!

Those are the candles I’ve tried out this Christmas. What are your favourite festive candles? I would love to hear your thoughts.

I want to go on a massive candle shopping spree now!!! Yankee Candles are the best, my favourite Christmas candle of theirs is Christmas memories or Cinammon stick. I really want to try snowflake cookie so I’m glad you got to try this one out!
